Noise abatement in built-up area

The research will produce new information about essential noise abatement problems of coming years and find out ways to promote good and healthy environment. The purpose is to prepare a proposal and present methods how the noise issues will be handled concentratedly in future to get real-time and pertinent representation of noise information for authorities and resident. The information serves decision-making process and its follow up on local, national as well as on EU-level.

The objectives of the project among others are the development of consistency of noise mapping methods, the evaluation of economical point of views concerning noise nuisance, to study the implementation of new noise control methods and to develop concentrated control and availability of noise information.

The project focuses on survey and reduction of noise in built-up area. The
objective is to work on densely populated areas so that those areas are more noiseless and comfortable for their residents in the long-term.
