The results of research and other activities carried out by the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) are regularly published in various Finnish and foreign publications, including scientific and professional journals, and special guides and reports.
SYKE also produces a variety of publications in cooperation with other organisations within the environmental administration, and with organisations in other fields. Many of the Finnish environmental administration's joint publications are produced as part of a series known as 'the Finnish Environment', which includes the findings of national research projects in the fields of nature conservation and environmental protection. Special leaflets and brochures are also produced on subjects such as chemicals, habitat restoration and management, and biodiversity.
The Ympäristö-lehti magazine, published jointly by SYKE and the Ministry of the Environment eight times a year (in Finnish), covers the latest research and examines environmental issues related to business and everyday life, as well as news from the administrative sector.
One major recent publication worthy of special mention is the electronic dictionary "Environmental Dictionary EnDic".
Original articles and summaries of the latest environmental research findings also appear in the 'Boreal Environment Research' series, which is published by SYKE together with seven other expert organisations.
