In Finland there are more than one thousand water bodies that need management or restoration. The number includes lakes, rivers, streams, coastal bays and small water bodies. The financial support from the government is decreasing, but information and expert assistance are offered by the authorities.
These webpages (mainly In Finnish) form a knowledge database on management and restoration of water bodies. The Finnish Watercourse Restoration Network founded in 2012 also offers expert advice and a possibility to exchange of experience for stakeholders.
